Welcome to Digital Underpants

Welcome to Digital Underpants.

Who am I?  My name is George Graves, I’m 36 years old, and I make things.

My interests are microcontrollers and realtime data.  Yea, nerdy stuff.  Arduino, atmega, opamps, power supplies, and all that good stuff.  I’m going to be documenting some of the things I learn as find my way deeper into the world of electronics – and maybe start a business.   I noticed that there is a steep learning curve to get started in electronics – I’m not talking about learning about resistors, caps, and inductors – I’m talking about the tricks and tips that when you are working alone can become huge stumbling blocks to the beginner.  Enough of a roadblock to make most people throw in the towel.  Where do you buy solder?  What tools do I need?  How do you store and organize parts? I hope that sharing some of what I’m learning will help other.

So why the weird URL?  Don’t worry, there won’t be any questionable content here.  It’s just a name.  But I reserve the right to use foul language – so let’s assume it’s PG-13.

Alright – a bit more about me, I’m from Santa Barbara, CA in the U.S.  I’m a video editor, and have been tinkering with electronics for a short time now.  I also work for Adafruit.com an electronics kit company.

Subscribe, bookmark, rss, whatever, and let’s get this bitch moving.
